About the Founder: Oluwabukola Shittu
Oluwabukola Shittu is a visionary fashion entrepreneur, designer, and educator passionate about sustainability, cultural heritage, and empowering creatives. She founded Sheila Fashion Academy in 2021 to equip aspiring designers with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the global fashion industry.
With a background in Petroleum Engineering, Oluwabukola transitioned into fashion to preserve and innovate Nigerian textiles like Adire and Aso Oke. Her fashion brand, Sheila Shittu, blends traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques, creating garments that inspire personal growth , confidence, and beauty.
Oluwabukola is a certified and award entrepreneur with a double Mini MBA graduate through the Orange Corners Nigeria program (Kingdom of Netherlands) and Access Bank Womenpreneur (in partnership with IFC). She is also a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneur and an award-winning alumna of the Development Bank of Nigeria Entrepreneurship Training Program, where her creativity and leadership earned recognition.
As an advocate for women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship, she mentors young creatives and inspires others to tell their stories through fashion. With her dynamic leadership, Oluwabukola is shaping the future of sustainable fashion while preserving Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
